Zambezi Mubala Camp is set beautifully under tall, shady trees, overlooking the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. It is a short distance from the larger and more luxurious Zambezi Mubala Lodge, both approximately 40kms east of Katima Mulilo. Self-drive tourists to Namibia who wish to add a bit of adventure to their itinerary should stay here for a couple of nights on the northern leg of their Namibian holiday in rustic but comfortable, fully-equipped self catering tents.
As you might expect from such an excellent riverside location, fishing, boating, wildlife viewing and birding rate highly on many a tourist's itinerary. Game sightings are frequent and guests will experience first-rate guiding on every activity. This camp is also ideally positioned for those on the way to or from Kasane, Victoria Falls and Livingstone, not to mention Botswana's top tourist destinations Chobe NP, Moremi GR and the world-famous Okavango Delta.
Wine and dine in the camp's a la carte restaurant and bar. The riverbank provides a peaceful and idyllic setting, which enhances your Gondwana dining experience. Expect tasty, yet fairly simple breakfasts and main meals. Escape from the hot afternoon sunshine with a dip in the inviting pool. In the evening gather round the fire-pit with fellow guests to exchange your travel and wildlife stories and sightings. Braai packs and firewood are also available at reception. A laundry service is available. Mobile connectivity allows the camp's guests to keep in touch with loved ones at home.
Guests stay in 8 Safari Tents: Each one is equipped with en-suite bathrooms and 4 beds with overhead mosquito nets. The self-catering kitchens offer an alternative to the restaurant for guests who wish to prepare their own meals. Enjoy a refreshing sundowner as the beautiful Namibian sunsets on your private verandah, whilst savoring the tranquil river atmosphere.
The region is home to colourful carmine bee-eaters. Colony's that congregate on the riverbanks are some of the largest in seen in all of southern Africa. They are just one of over 450 species of birdlife that have been recorded here. Pel's owl, rock pratincole, African skimmers and Pygmy geese can also be observed.

Zambezi Mubala Camp is a fishermen's paradise. Join a guided fishing trip and catch species such as catfish, tilapia, nambwe and tigerfish. All fishing is done on a catch and release basis.

This unique tented camp offers the experience of a lifetime. Each chalet is built on elevated stilts to accommodate the seasonal flooding of the great Chobe River, the natural border between the Camp and the Chobe National Park in Botswana. Home to a seasonal large animal migration, this is the wildlife enthusiast’s dream. Take a boating opportunity to glide through the waters, entering the wonderland that is the Zambezi. Guests have the opportunity to float along the river on a boat cruise and see the wildlife in the Chobe National Park. And evenings are spent in laughter and good spirits around a warm boma fire.

With en suite bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen, this is an iconic way to experience the Zambezi Region. Elephants, hippos and a myriad of bird species will keep you company amongst waterlilies and the African bush. Spend your evenings around a campfire with the sounds of the Kwando to keep you company.
