Belvedere Boutique Hotel is a modern bed & breakfast establishment. It is located in Ludwigsdorf, one of the Windhoek's most affluent suburbs. This is the perfect stopover at the beginning or end of your Namibian vacation. Plan and pack for your onward journey whether you are heading north to Waterberg Plateau Park, Etosha Park and the Zambezi Region or south to the highest dunes in the world at Sossusvlei and onto Fish River Canyon.

John Ludwig (b Germany 3 April 1857) is considered the founder of Klein Windhoek. At an early age he followed a brother to London, where he trained as a baker before serving in the Cape Police. After his farm was sold by auction in his absence he emigrated to Namibia in 1887 and settled in Klein Windhoek in 1892, opening a restaurant called 'Ludwigslust'. He died in Windhoek on 27th February 1913 after a stomach operation and on the 1st March became the first person to be buried in the Klein Windhoek cemetery. His wife Lida is buried beside him. John Ludwig’s grave was proclaimed a national monument on 1st May 1967.

Although lunch and dinner are not served at Belvedere the owners/management will happily recommended a nearby restaurant or cafe. Chill and unwind on comfortable lounge furniture, the ideal place to sit and read or chat to a fellow guest. A number of other seating areas are set throughout the property designed for your relaxation and comfort. Complementary tea/coffee, snacks and an honesty bar are available as well. Take a refreshing dip in the pool after your journey or a day out in the city and relax on shaded sun-loungers afterwards.

Complementary Wi-Fi and broadband connectivity is available in the rooms and Belvedere's grounds. Small seminars and meetings for upto 10 delegates can be organized. A Spa is available on the premises for guests of Belvedere Boutique Hotel. A number of treatments and massages are waiting for you after a long flight, self-drive road trip or activity. Other facilities include secure parking and a laundry service.

Guests stay in 18 beautifully and stylishly furnished rooms ideal for both tourist and business person. There are:

Standard Rooms: The 12 Standard Rooms are equipped with an en-suite bathroom with bath and or a shower, king/queen or double beds, free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, mini-bar, flat screen TV with hotel package satellite channels, comfortable seating, an in-room safe, a writing desk and a hair-dryer. All rooms afford great garden views.

Luxury Rooms: There are 4 Luxury Rooms. They have similar facilities to the Standard Rooms.

Family Room: The Family Room is ideal for 2 adults and 2 children. This room has similar facilities to the other rooms.

Penthouse House: The spacious and beautifully furnished Penthouse Suite affords great garden views. Unwind on a comfy sofa and armchairs at the end of the day. The facilities are similar to the other rooms.

It was extremely comfortable with very attentive staff. It is not centrally located, but a taxi ride into town was easily arranged and inexpensive, and the hotel itself is beautiful.


76 + 78 Dr. Kwame Nkrumah Street (old Geverstreet) From Hosea Kutako International Airport to Belvedere Boutique Hotel (approx 40km/40min). On leaving the Namibia International Airport, turn right towards Windhoek. You stay on the highway until you get the first T junction stop as you enter Windhoek. Turn right into Sam Nujoma Avenue until you get the first traffic light (+- 500m). Turn right at the first traffic light into Dr Kwame Nkrumah Road. Continue for 1 km in Dr Kwame Nkrumah Road and Belvedere is on your left hand side – 76 & 78 Dr Kwame Nkrumah Road (Old Geverstreet)
