The Stiltz has the only accommodation in Swakopmund, that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, the Swakop river-bed, the sand dunes and the bird-rich lagoon of the river mouth. As it's name suggests, each private bungalow is built on stilts, and they are interlinked by wooden walkways, as well as to and from the main dining bungalow. It is hard to believe that with such a unique setting, it is actually in the town.
This popular bed and breakfast establishment, is only a brisk 15 minute walk from the town centre, and is a very convenient base to explore Swakopmund town centre, with it's plentiful selection of restaurant's, bar's and amenities. The Stiltz recommends The Tug and the Die Kelder, for an evening of outstanding food and wine.
There is a breakfast room with a small lounge, for those guests not 'out on the town' or enjoying many of the activities in and around the area. The couch is made of blue-gum wood, collected in the Swakop River. It faces a large window with a panoramic view of the sea and riverine environment. They are welcome to use the telephone and Internet facility in the main office, once they've finished gawping out of the window. There is also a laundry service.
Accommodation is in either bungalows or luxury villas. Each unit is stylishly decorated and furnished and the interiors have been colourfully and artistically designed. The bathrooms have rosewood door frames, terracotta floor tiles and walls of coloured steel sheeting.
Bungalows: 8 bungalows in either a twin or double configuration with 1 Honeymoon Suite. They all sleep 2 persons. Seating is in director 'fold-up' chairs, crafted especially for The Stiltz. Wi-fi internet is available throughout.

These are honest reviews, both good and bad, from our travellers who visited this property.
We received a Villa - a very comfortable place to stay. Do not try to use the oven, you end up in a smoked place.
We got a whole house to ourself! With an interior design to die for... Pity about the Swakopmund weather though...
Wonderful place and great staff, especially Jonny the security guard! Amazingly comfortable rooms and good location.
Lovely location so near to the centre of Swakopmund. Very friendly staff and the staff at reception were very helpful
One place we would want to go back to, Swakopmund has lots we could have found to do and the Stiltz is really something.
Helpful and courteous staff who were happy to recommend and book restaurants for us. Good location and warm room in a very cold environment
Another interesting place to stay and good value. Not as polished as the lodges but comfortable and really well placed for exploring the town.
Very good stay, room are large and not so cold as I expected. Staff very cooperative to solve a small problem we faced with the car. Wi fi is free
We were upgraded to a villa and it was fantastic! Nice walking distance to the tourist area. We had a wonderful view over the estuary and flamingos.
Amazing setting, nice staff, great breakfasts, interesting town. Plumbing (especially shower drains) needs to be opened up, but would definitely return.
Also, a very nice stay and we got very pleased and surprise with all the option we have in Swakapomund. And Stiltz is certainly part of this pleasant surprise.
Great Manager, Margaret. Very nice accommodation, well positioned and comfortable, with a good breakfast. Lighting in the rooms could have been slightly brighter.
Very nice welcome. Nice room. Great breakfast. Globally a great stay but Swakopmund was not what we were looking for in Namibia and it was basically just a stopover.
Definitely starting to be somewhat run-down, and now located next to a major outdoor bar and a camping area, which means it is very loud at night and not secluded anymore.
The staff here are lovely, friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. The rooms are just beautiful, great place to stay, worth visiting Swakopmund just to stay here!
situated in walking distance from center of the city the Stiltz is highly recommendable; spacious bungalows outlooking the sea; very friendly and helpful staff; nice breakfast
WOW!!! The accomodation was truly unique. We were lucky enough to receive an upgrade when we arrived. The staff bent over backwards to make our stay an enjoyable and memorable experience.
The nicest chalet we got during the stay. Having a restaurant booked in advance in the evening is a must because it was very difficult to get a booking when arriving late, without advice at reception
villa volume was nice, but needs some renovation in certain rooms. Decoration was too eclectic: we felt more in Germany than Africa. very touristic feeling: head staff helpful, but staff seems to be fed up with tourists
We found the hotel to be totally adequate, but the rooms are a bit dark and musty. There was a bad smell of sewage in some areas, particularly near rooms 7 and 8. There was also a problem with the wifi one evening. But the staff were very nice and the breakfast was very good.
I really liked The Stiltz accommodation, and would recommend it. But Swakop was SO COLD! We did not make reservations for dinner early enough and ended up eating at a not very good restaurant (the Lighthouse) (at least not very good that night!). I`m not sure I would return to Swakop.
