The Rossmund Lodge is situated on the northern banks of the Swakop River, approximately 6kms from the coastal town of Swakopmund. The Lodge forms part of the 18-hole Rossmund Golf Course, uniquely set in the Namib Desert, and is one of only five registered all-grass desert golf courses in the world. The rural location of the lodge makes it an ideal setting for non-golfers wanting to avoid staying in the town.
Rossmund Lodge is beautifully positioned, with 360° vistas of the fairways, and a striking backdrop of the Namib Desert sand dunes. Its location beyond the coastal mist belt, (which frequently engulfs Swakopmund and other coastal areas of Namibia) permits guests to enjoy longer spells of good weather.
Guests can wine and dine in the attractive bar and lounge area. Take your early morning meal in the breakfast room while light lunches and dinners can be eaten inside or outside beneath the wavering palm trees on the patio. Both venues overlook the golf course and surrounding wilderness. The 'a-la-carte' restaurant in the main golf clubhouse is also available to diners. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available at reception and in most rooms.
The business community can book the Conference Centre for meetings, seminars and conventions. Facilities for up to 80 delegates can be organized and data projector facilities are available. Additional breakaway areas can be arranged for more private gatherings. Larger groups, various wedding packages and special events can be coordinated by the events team.
Accommodation at Rossmund Lodge is offered in:
Chalets: There are 18 chalets which can sleep 2-4 people in either twin, double or king-size beds. Additional mattresses can be arranged. An en-suite bathroom, telephone, mini-bar/fridge, tea/coffee station, DSTV with hotel channel package, fan, fireplace (wood supplied) and complimentary Wi-Fi are standard. Enjoy fairways or rock pool views from the comfort of your private patio.
Luxury chalets: There are 2 Luxury Chalets that sleep 2 guests in each unit with the addition of a king-size bed and separate sitting room area. The facilities and views are similar to the other chalets.
The beautiful rock swimming pool provides a welcome relief for golfers and guests alike. It is also a terrific spot to just soak up the Namibian sunshine and desert tranquility.
Both golfers and non-golfers may stroll freely around the course. They are within touching distance of herds of free-roaming springbok, and can spend many a happy hour identifying the variety of bird species here, including bokmakierie, chestnut vented tit babbler, fiscal shrike, rock kestrels, white-backed mouse-birds and guinea fowl to name but a few.
