Le mirage desert lodge

Le Mirage Desert Lodge is ideal for guests who are happy to stay at a large, comfortable lodge. As it is only 21kms from Sesriem you will not have to travel too far to the entrance gate to Sossusvlei. The highlight for many is a trip to the wellness centre and jacuzzi after a dune safari or long road trip.

Sossusvlei is part of an ephemeral river system, whose route to the ocean has been cut by the ever advancing dune sea of the Namib Desert. The Namib-Naukluft Park is not only Namibia’s largest park, but also one of the largest in Africa. The Namib is considered to be one of the oldest deserts in the world.

The lodge is a 'faux' castle and was designed to be a harmonious blend of luxury and nature. Each room offers a spectacular view of the Namib Desert. Wine and dine in the restaurant or in the outdoor dining area. A comfortable lounge offers the opportunity to chat with fellow travellers about their adventures and activities. Souveniers and gifts can be purchased from the curio shop.

There are 5 treatment rooms and aroma baths specializing in massages, pedicures, manicures, aroma massages, Thai massages and de-stress treatments. In the large courtyard guests can retreat at the swimming pool sheltered from the desert in an oasis of palm trees.

Guests are accommodated in 30 luxury rooms with en-suite facilities, air-conditioning/heating, a safe, mini bar, tea/coffee station, a telephone and hairdryers. A laundry service is also available.

Guests can visit Sossusvlei either under their own steam or as part of a guided trip. Guided quad bike trips, nature drives, as well as scenic flights and hot air balloon safaris over the Namib Desert, can also be organized. Also very popular with guests are the lodge's scenic sundowner drives.

Children of all ages are welcome at Le Mirage Desert Lodge and there is a babysitting service.

I don't feel this place was worth the expense. I am more comfortable in homestays so it may just be a matter of preference.

Excellent accommodation (apart from cold shower) and very good service. Shame we weren`t able to stay there longer but there too much to see!

A luxury place near Sesriem and Sossuslvei, with also a SPA inside (in general we're not used to this, but I think that sometimes and after almost 3500km it could be ok !)

Rooms could do with some maintenance, good restaurant with very friendly service, hotel staff not as friendly. Not a bad experience, but other places were more value for money.

Beautiful place to stay!! The food was absolutely stunning, the staff was excellent: Professional, efficient and VERY VERY Friendly!! And the facilities were great. Ten out of Ten! Now if only the Namibian authorities would do something about the roads I would go back there every year!!

This was great. A big spacious room with great beds for the 4 of us. Dinner the first night was an outstanding 5-course meal. The 2nd night was a disappointing buffet (not great food, not enough food and poorly presented). But all in all very nice and 2 nights there is about right in my opinion.
