Guests arrive and follow en-route signage to the Desert Whisper's private reception. You will be met by your dedicated host. Your spacious luxury suite awaits. During their stay, guests have radio contact with their host at all times who will deliver pre-arranged hot meals and / or cold platters from a very comprehensive menu to your fully equipped kitchen. We regret that the Desert Whisper is not suitable for children from the age of 12 years or younger, however children from 13 years old are allowed so long as it still amounts to 2 pax only.
A private morning and / or Sunset Dune Drive into the Gondwana Namib Park are a highlight at the Desert Whisper. The oldest desert in the world holds many secrets with a surprisingly varied amount of interesting flora and fauna.
The stunning red sand dunes of Sossusvlei in the Namib Desert are one of the most spectacular sights in Namibia. They are part of a World Heritage Site, the Namib Sand Sea. These towering sand dunes are just one excellent reason to visit the country. However, the name 'Sossusvlei' applies in reality to the pan that lies at the place where the dunes close in, a natural dam which prevents the waters of the Tsauchab River from flowing any further on the rare occasions the river does flow this far. However, the name 'Sossusvlei' nowadays applies to the whole area, dunes and river alike. The best time to view Sossusvlei is close to sunrise and sunset. Strong colours constantly change, allowing for wonderful photographic opportunities.
