Staying at Sesfontein Guesthouse is a very rural experience with donkey carts a common sight and being woken up by crowing chicken well before dawn.
We offer six rooms each furnished with one double bed with the possibility of adding one extra single bed. All rooms come complete with en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning and mosquito nets.
Our restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We pride ourselves in using mostly local ingredients – from bananas to pumpkins, tomatoes, salads, onions, carrots and more. We bake our own bread and serve the best banana bread north of Windhoek.

Accommodation for our guests is provided in modern dome style tents. The tents provide comfortable beds consisting of a stretcher, a fully made up bedroll, duvet and pillow. When it does decide to get chilly, especially
during wintertime we supply extra blankets for our guest’s ultimate comfort. We provide basic communal ablutions and ensure privacy as well as comfort in the wildest of locations.

Activities on offer range from:
We depart in a 4x4 Safari vehicle to a Himba village close by. Here you will be able to see the daily duties in the village. Himba people are very proud of their tradition and they will explain their daily life to you. You will also have the possibility to look into the accommodation and living areas. A guide will accompany you in your own vehicle to visit the Himbas near Sesfontein. You will be able to see the daily duties in the village and learn about their traditional lifestyle. It is advisable to have some food gifts with you in exchange for their hospitality. This excursion is a whole day excursion into the dry Hoanib riverbed. After an early breakfast we depart from the guesthouse.
We explore parts of the Hoanib River in search of the elusive desert-adapted elephants. (incl. food presents for Himbas, water for the guests)
