These are honest reviews, both good and bad, from our travellers who visited this property.
Location great on sea. Perhaps when recommending you should suggest Kolmanskop as it's worth the visit.
OK, but needs to improve the heating system (switched off is very cold, switched in is very noisy and the room becomes hot)
Staff was great. Restuarant was good. Hotel is a little dated. I would recommend a B&B over the hotel when visting Luderitz.
We had a beautiful room facing the ocean. We appreciated the pool and the restaurant. The food was very good and out of the beaten paths.
An old German hotel, but comfortable and clean on the Atlantic Ocean. Other brightly coloured houses in the town and a distinct German influence.
nice hotel but Luderitz was a bit disappointing great drive to get there but not much to do or see once you are there. should have arranged "ghost town tour"
The only 'hotel' we stayed in and perfectly comfortable. We'd probably have chosen only to stay one night, on reflection, but that due to Luderitz itself rather than the hotel.
The hotel initially gave us a room where the painters were still painting it but that was soon resolved. A really great place, we found it a refreshing stopover, the seaview was fantastic.
Sufficient and pleasant base from which to explore Luderitz. Breakfast does not offer much variety for a 4* but will get you through the day. Rooms are OK and the location is a definite plus.
Four star hotel; it was nice being right on the ocean after a week in the desert. Kolmanskop was a must-see. Loved hearing about the fascinating history of the town and it is so incredibly photogenic.
The accommodations were nice and comfortable. The staff were more professional and a bit stiff. I don't mean that in am overly negative way. They were simply more reserved than the other people we encountered.
Convenient because we needed to visit Kolmanskopp but the service is very average compared to Namibian (high) standards. The food is no great either (the kitchen staff was sometimes rude all together) and the rooms are quite charmless.
The hotel was ok. A bit retro and conventional. Not a highlight but we'd specifically asked to visit Luderitz to see the Ghost Town in Kolmanskop and there seemed to be few other places in Luderitz where we could have stayed so we were happy to stay
The Nest Hotel is situated on the old "Blade Strand" in Luderitz, on the beach. If you are arriving from the south, turn left at the end of Baai Weg, from the north, head south down Bismarck street near the coast, and fork left to keep to the coast. The hotel is at the end of Diaz street.Download Map
