The area is renowned for it’s large herds of elephant and their regular visits under the walkways seemingly unperturbed by our guests who are so privileged to get that close to Africa’s largest mammal.

Game Drives: Morning and afternoon game drives into Bwabwata NP can be arranged.
Boat Cruise: A different perspective to wildlife interaction can be experienced on a Kwando River boat cruise which meanders in and around peaceful backwaters. Mokoro trips can also be organized.
Night Drives: Nambwa Lodge can offer approved night after dinner game drives and walks in search of elusive, shy nocturnal animals.
Guided Bush Walks: An armed ranger/guide can lead you to all the well-known wildlife hot-spots on foot.
Cultural: A visit to a traditional Mayuni Village and craft market enlightens tourist of their way of life and gives them the opportunity to display some of their home-made souvenirs.
Fishing: Limited angling trips are conducted on the Kwando River on a catch and release basis only.

The entrance to Nambwa lodge is to the south of the B8 highway a 6.5km west of Kongola. Driving west from Kongola along the B8 you will enter the Bwabwata park through a gate and the turnoff to the lodge is around 300 meters past this gate - the turnoff is well marked. If driving from Rundu to Kongola the turn off is just before you exit the park. The last 13.6km is through very soft sand so you need a 4×4: it is not passable with a two-wheel drive vehicle.
