Born & raised in Namibia. My father moved to Namibia from Germany and started a dairy farm just outside Swakopmund, here he met my mother, fell madly in love and here I am! On completing high school I started working at a hotel in Swakopmund, doing general reception duties, making reservations, checking clients in & out and overseeing the day to day running of the hotel. As many of my family members were involved in the tourism industry it just felt right to follow in their footsteps; and I absolutely loved it from the start and it was a passion worth pursuing. After moving to Windhoek I was lucky enough to be offered a job as tour consultant at The Cardboard Box Travel Shop. Rachael, one of the owners, took me under her wing and taught me everything I needed to know - it's now nearly 9 years later and I am still enjoying what I do to the fullest and The Cardboard Box has grown very close to my heart.
My animals, absolutely love cooking, having a braai at home & enjoy a good glass of wine now & then.
The Skeleton Coast; some time ago I had the very fortunate opportunity to do a 5 day Skeleton Coast fly in safari. This was a truly special experience. Not having any people, cars or any public roads for hundreds of km`s around you. The very untouched and isolated location, running down the roaring dunes, visiting Cape Fria to see the seals and going fishing, the shipwrecks and meeting the Himba people in Purros & of course the amazing Desert Adapted Elephants. It still gives me goose-bumps when I think back.
Try and incorporate some 'off the traditional route' destinations like the Caprivi or Kaokoland. (although it is difficult if you only have a limited amount of days available).
