Itenga Wildlife Mobile Safari

Includes: Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Himba, Etosha, Chobe & Vic Falls

The Itenga Wildlife Safari is a 15 day safari that includes 11 nights staying in mobile safari accommodation (think pimped out camping) and 3 nights in hotel / guest house accommodation. The safari begins in Windhoek and then visits Sossusvlei, in the Namib Desert, Swakopmund, Etosha National Park and the Chobe area of Botswana before ending at the famous Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.

On alternate departures the safari runs in reverse - starting in Vic Falls and ending in Windhoek.

DAY 1: WINDHOEK
Windhoek, with its lingering heritage of German architecture, activities and atmosphere is a city that can be visited throughout the year. The day is spent at leisure. We are met by our guide at the hotel reception for a briefing at +-18h00.

DAY 2/3: NAMIB DESERT - SOSSUSVLEI
Our journey takes us south to the heart of the Namib Desert. The following morning is an early departure for Sossusvlei stopping in the dune belt to enjoy the changing colours of the world`s highest sand dunes. The morning is spent walking amongst the dunes of Sossusvlei and Deadvlei (optional shuttle into the dunes available on clients’ account). On the way back to our camp we enjoy a short hike through the Sesriem Canyon

DAY 4: SWAKOPMUND
Swakopmund, with its German colonial atmosphere, is the principal coastal resort of Namibia. Time is spent at leisure to enjoy the charm of this old town or to undertake one of the many optional activities on offer (scenic flights, hot air ballooning, etc. own expense).

DAY 5: SPITZKOPPE
The Spitzkoppe is also described as the "Matterhorn of Namibia". Rising to an altitude of about 1800 meters, the Spitzkoppe, due to its striking outlines, it is regarded as the most well-known mountain in the country. Situated in an endless, dry plain, the island of mountains can be seen from far away. We enjoy one of the various walking trails available.

DAY 6: HIMBA VISIT
During the afternoon we visit a Himba village to gain a glimpse into their way of life. The Himbas are a semi-nomadic tribe, who live in scattered settlements throughout the region.

DAY 7/8/9: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
We travel through the truly unique landscape of the Park which is one of the most important and best reserves and game sanctuaries the world. Etosha is the last remaining natural wild sanctuary of the black rhino. We enjoy early morning and late afternoon game drives, visiting the famous Etosha Pan and numerous waterholes.

DAY 10/11: KAVANGO RIVER
We travel north towards the border of Angola. We enter the Kavango region which is the home of the well-known woodcarvers. We camp at the banks of the Kavango River where hippos might be heard close by. The next morning visit Mahango Game Reserve, with the chances of spotting crocodiles, elephants, hippos and rare antelopes like Sable, Roan, and Sitatunga. In the afternoon we enjoy a mokoro excursion in this beautiful area.

DAY 12/13: CHOBE
We enter Botswana where we visit Chobe, famous for its magnificent sunsets and amazing landscapes. We enjoy a morning game drive in the national park, searching for big herds of elephants. In the afternoon we depart on a sunset cruise to watch the wild life from the comfort of our boat. Standard Mobile Safari (All meals)

DAY 14: VICTORIA FALLS
Victoria Falls is without doubt one of the most wonderful spectacles in the world. We have time at leisure to enjoy a variety of activities and to visit the falls

DAY 15: VICTORIA FALLS
The safari ends after breakfast (+-10h00)

A Standard Mobile Safari uses public camping sites with communal ablution facilities and hot showers. The safari crew includes a professional guide and his assistant/chef who pre-erects your camp and are responsible for all camp duties.

2 person spacious, comfortable Dome tent (L2.5m x W2.5m x H1.85m) with built-in groundsheet 2 large aerating windows with mosquito netting.
Safari folding chair.
2 comfortable camp beds with foam mattress and pillow.
Large marquee tent (5m x 5m) is used for shade in summer
Food & drink
3 wholesome meals each day when camping, with dinner served ‘Al fresco’ under the stars - bush cuisine at its best!
Tea and coffee available in camp.
Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are not included and may be purchased at the start of the safari and en route.
Excludes lunches & dinners in Windhoek, Swakopmund and Victoria Falls.
