Introduction: Wiry hydroids (Amphisbetia operculata) are so-called because of their thin, wiry stems that divide frequently into pairs. These in turn separate at an acute angle, which creates a thin, rambling bush.
Diet: Minute sea food.
Colouration: Dark stems.
Breeding: Gonothecae are similar to elongate figs in appearance.
Max size: Colonies are 50 to 90mm long.
