Windhoek Game Camp

Self Catering accommodation north of Windhoek

Windhoek Game Camp is set in Brakwater some 20km north of Windhoek. It is located in the bush and offers light game viewing and a visit from a friendly giraffe. This is ideal for self-drive tourists looking for self catering accommodation at the beginning or the end of their Namibian holiday in a tranquil setting. The management pride themselves on friendly and attentive service and a peaceful bush sleep. The location allows for easy access to Windhoek's numerous restaurants and cafes.

The tents are not what you might expect from a self catering establishment, the emphasis here is on quality and a touch of luxury. Each tent can accommodate 2 adults & 2 children and is built on a raised wooden platform. At Windhoek Game Camp you will find crisp white linen, an en-suite bathroom and a well equipped self catering kitchen (and braai area). Each unit has power points for hairdryers and shavers (220v) as well as an external power point. All this is topped off with views over the veldt and mountains of central Namibia.

The self catering kitchen in each unit is well equipped with a microwave, fridge, & hob and all the cutlery, crockery you would hope to find. Firelighters, ice & wood can be purchased from reception.

The communal pool is very popular during the summer months, while larger groups can rent the cosy custom built braai (BBQ) area.

Permanent residents of Windhoek Game Camp include giraffe (who can often be seen strolling around the pool area), kudu, oryx, hartebeest, springbok, warthog, ostrich and guinea fowl. All of these can be freely seen roaming around your tent, or at the camps own waterhole. For the more active there is also a hiking trail.

In order to ensure guests have an exclusive stay at the camp, day visitors are not allowed on the property. For those concerned with security the luxury tents are surrounded by an electric fence and entry is controlled via the main gate.
