Namushasha River Villa

Kwando River | Zambezi Region - Namibia

Namushasha River Villa is a double story houseboat / villa, anchored in its very own private channel of the Kwando River. Access is via by road to Namushasha River Lodge, itself a short 24kms drive south of the small northern Namibian town of Kongola. A short lodge to villa transfer follows. This is the place to stay for a private game drive and meal in the Bwabwata National Park, followed by an evening of sheer opulence on the River Villa. You will be ferried back to the main lodge after your stay.

This is also the perfect opportunity to experience the wonders of Bwabwata Park in a private and intimate setting. As the Villa caters for only 2 guests, privacy and exclusivity in this superb couple's retreat is assured. Although you are the only ones on board, you will have radio access to the main lodge at all times. This beautiful river villa is fondly known as 'Masheli', or 'Water Lily' in a local Bantu language.

Bwabwata is also known as 'a people's park' as it supports both large wildlife and human populations. This special arrangement benefits mankind and the animal kingdom equally, with conservation and rural community development both coming out as as winners from sharing this spectacular area. Community game guards and resource monitors have been put in place, not only as a long-term conservation initiative, but to improve the quality of life for local people, who now have new opportunities in ecotourism. The park is 6,100km² and extends for about 180km from the Kavango River in the west to the Kwando River in the east. Bwabwata is named after a village in the reserve and means 'the sound of bubbling water.'

The River Villa consists of a spacious 2 storey suite which includes an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area. Meals are pre-prepared according to the preference of the guests. There is no service staff or chef on the River Villa during your stay to guarantee complete exclusiveness, however guests have radio contact with Namushasha River Lodge at all times. Help yourself to a drink, sundowner and night cap from the fully-stocked bar. (Meals and drinks are fully inclusive). Other facilities include an en-suite shower/bathroom with complimentary toiletries, free Wi-Fi, charging plugs, air-conditioning/heating, mosquito nets and a laundry service.
