Accommodation in Walvis Bay - Namibia
The French owned Lagoon Loge enjoys a beautiful setting right beside the Walvis Bay Lagoon. Many guests comment on how their lively French hosts, Helene and Wilfried, go out of their way to make a visit here great fun. As they are both artists your rooms are personally designed and furnished with amazing wood and textile pieces, created by them both. This adds to the welcoming and homelike feel.
The lagoon is the main attraction of the area, and is regarded as the most important wetland for coastal birds in Southern Africa. Because of it's location, there is a wide variety of marine birds here, including large flocks of flamingos and is a great favourite for bird-watchers. Lagoon Lodge is also a good base for exploring Walvis Bay and the main surrounding tourist attractions as well. Many visitors stay for a couple of nights.
Accommodation at the lodge is in 8 individually decorated rooms. Enjoy the magnificent views of the lagoon from your private balcony or a verandah on a comfortable wicker chair. All of the rooms are sea-facing. There are:
- Double Rooms: Each room has an en-suite bathroom and is equipped with a TV, telephone, mini-bar, tea/coffee station and an in-room safe. Some of the rooms have twin beds and others have a king-size bed.
- Family Rooms: The 3 Family Rooms have either single or double beds, single beds or 2 twin and a double bed or 3 single beds and the similar facilities to the Double Rooms.
Set in the hotel's beautiful garden, and at the back of the main building, is a swimming pool. It comes complete with lazy-loungers and sun-shades, for guests to relax and laze around in.
Lagoon Loge also has a roof deck - a wonderful place to enjoy the breathtaking views of the lagoon and the dunes, whilst drinking a sundowner!
Thousands of lesser and greater flamingos, as well as white pelicans, plover, avocet, turnstone and a huge variety of waders, gather in the Walvis Bay Lagoon. Several endemic species, such as the dune lark and the Damara tern are also in the vicinity.
